Arenda's Story
I discovered breathwork at a moment in my life when I was feeling lost, stuck, and constantly in a rush for no reason. I had gone through a breakup, sold my belongings, lost my dog, and moved back to Los Angeles from another country. I was searching for something, I just didn’t know what it was. I stumbled into a breathwork class expecting to relax and maybe even take a nap. I walked in thinking, “Breathwork? This should be easy. Duh, I breathe all the time.” Well, I was in for a surprise. I actually had to work and focus on my breathing. What a journey it was! I laughed. I cried. I felt a deeper love than I ever had before for myself, for others, for experiences, and for everything around me. It was like I had gone to another planet and received a huge injection of gratitude with a side of happy juice. I walked out of that class feeling like I was floating on clouds, smiling so big at strangers and ready to hug anyone and everyone. I felt appreciation for everyone in my life. For the first time in a long time, I saw them as humans doing their best. I felt their innocence. I said to myself, “So this is compassion.”
For so many years I had blamed others and believed they were against me. I had never taken the time to pause, breathe, and hear their stories. Suddenly, I realized they no longer owed me explanations or apologies for anything. They were perfect just as they were. And since they were perfect, I was perfect too. I didn’t need to change either. Acceptance is what I received in my very first breathwork session.
I believe that no matter what we go through on this journey called life, it all becomes part of a beautiful story…the book of you. Self-discovery, challenges, the many highs, and even those lows that feel like “this is the end.” Yet every time something fell apart, it created an opportunity to rebuild it better, stronger, and more meaningful than before. What an amazing journey!
I became a breathwork instructor to remind you of the power of your own breath and your ability to heal yourself. My mission is to guide others to let go of what holds them back, so they can move through life lighter, more present, and fully alive. No matter what cracked or bumpy paths you’ve been on, my intention is to hold a space of acceptance and guide you back to yourself…back to your heart and inner wisdom. This is your journey, your path, and I’m honored to shine a light along the way!
Dear Self,
It’s nice to meet you again. Somehow I got lost. I got wrapped up in working too many hours, relationships, and life drama. I forgot how to play. I forgot how to be excited about life. I missed waking up and not being able to wait to jump out of bed with a big smile on my face. I used to laugh loudly. I stopped being curious. I was simply moving through life, existing. I searched for material things to brighten my day and got upset with others for not making me happy. I lost sight of what really matters.
But I found you again, and how sweet it is. It feels like I’ve been frozen for years and someone finally poured warm water over me. My senses have awakened. Colors appear more vibrant. Layers of sound are clearer than ever.
I feel alive. And now I see you.
Love,
Me
